Sabemos cuál es nuestro rol en la sociedad y una parte importante de él es la concienciación sobre el reciclaje.
Aunque la gran mayoría de la población es consciente de que sus acciones tienen un impacto en el medio ambiente y de lo mucho que puede contribuir el reciclaje al cuidado del mismo, aún hay ciertas leyendas urbanas que sirven de excusa para aquellos que no quieren asumir su responsabilidad con el entorno natural.
A continuación puedes leer una breve lista de 6 mitos sobre el reciclaje, acompañados explicación lógica que los desmiente.
1.- La basura se mezcla en los camiones.
¡FALSO! Los camiones cuentan con compartimientos que evitan que los residuos se mezclen entre ellos.
2.- En la planta de reciclaje se junta lo que separamos.
¡FALSO! Cada residuo se trata en función de su material. Tras la recogida se separan, clasifican, limpian y procesan para conseguir nueva materia prima.
3.- Si reciclo quito trabajo a la gente que está en las plantas.
¡FALSO! La gestión de residuos ha creado en España un total de 42.600 puestos de trabajo.
4.- Contamina más reciclar que producir productos nuevos.
¡FALSO! Desde 1998 hemos ahorrado 408 millones de m3 de agua y hemos evitado el consumo de 26.6 millones de MWh de energía.
5.-Que yo recicle no va a salvar el mundo.
¡FALSO! Todos debemos contribuir porque hasta el pequeño habito ¡cuenta!
6.- Es más caro que tirar los residuos al vertedero.
¡FALSO! La extracción de materias primas de la naturaleza para la creación de nuevos productos supone mayor coste ambiental que el reciclaje de los mismos.
7.- Los envases fabricados con materiales reciclados pueden perjudicar la salud.
¡FALSO! Los envases resultantes del reciclado son igual de buenos que los fabricados con materiales vírgenes, la gran diferencia es que esta técnica es más respetuosa con el medioambiente y sus recursos.
